The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the UGC NET June 2026 registration process today, May 20, 2026, at 11:50 PM. Candidates who have not completed their applications must submit the form through the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in before the deadline. NTA has not announced any extension so far, therefore applicants should avoid waiting until the final hours.
The UGC NET June 2026 examination will take place from June 22 to June 30, 2026. The national-level exam determines eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in universities and colleges across India. The application process originally started on April 29, 2026, and thousands of candidates may complete registrations on the final day.
To apply for UGC NET June 2026, candidates need to visit the official portal, complete DigiLocker authentication, fill in personal and educational details, upload required documents, and pay the examination fee online. After successful submission, applicants should download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
Candidates should carefully verify details such as name spelling, reservation category, exam subject, and preferred exam city before final submission.
The correction window for successfully registered candidates will remain open from May 22 to May 24, 2026. During this period, applicants can edit specific details in their forms if required.
NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2026 exam in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination will include two papers in a single three-hour session. Paper 1 will contain 50 questions for 100 marks, while Paper 2 will include 100 questions for 200 marks. Candidates will receive two marks for every correct answer, and the exam will not include negative marking.
The application fee for General category candidates is ₹1,150, while OBC-NCL and EWS candidates need to pay ₹600. SC, ST, PwD, and Transgender category candidates must pay ₹325.
